Sterilization products company STERIS (NYSE:STE) is looking to hire more than 50 employees at its suburban Cleveland headquarters, with a particular emphasis on engineers.

The healthcare jobs hiring binge is part of the company’s plan to add about 300 positions to its Mentor, Ohio headquarters in the coming years. The hires are related to the opening of a new $11 million customer solutions center in Mentor, as well as the shuttering of an Erie, Pennsylvania facility, both of which happened earlier this year.

STERIS hired more than 100 new employees in Mentor earlier this year.

Information about the open positions can be found on STERIS’s website in what the company refers to as a “virtual career fair.”  The company is looking to hire engineers, customer care representatives, sales coordinators and sales support supervisors, according to a statement.

Engineering, in particular, appears fertile ground for job seekers. STERIS has openings for an electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, quality engineer and a field service engineer, among others.

“The current need for engineers is related to our consolidation of operations from Erie to Mentor,” said company spokesman Steve Norton. “All of our Erie-based engineers were offered positions in Mentor and many of them have continued their employment with the company. However, many also have chosen to retire or pursue other employment options, which has resulted in the current opportunities at STERIS on our Mentor campus.”

Also a boon to job seekers: STERIS wants to make the hires quickly and won’t waste any time getting back to candidates it likes. In-person interviews will be scheduled for September and the company says it’ll extend job offers within one to five days — an impressively quick turnaround time if STERIS can pull it off.
