Wright State University in Dayton plans to build a $22 million state-of-the-art center to make the university a national leader in neuroscience research, and Premier Health Partners plans to provide $4.3 million over five years to create a department of neurology at Wright State’s Boonshoft School of Medicine, according to the Dayton Daily News.

Cincinnati nonprofit HealthBridge gets $1.4M federal contract for electronic medical records

Nonprofit health information exchange HealthBridge has received a $1.4 million contract from the Social Security Administration to provide electronic medical records to the government agency. Wright State medical school to better teach doctors how to fix wounds while also being shot at

The Boonshoft School of Medicine wants to better train public safety and medical personnel to practice medicine in high-risk situations. Eventually, it would create a round-the-clock support center for regional law-enforcement agencies where someone from Boonshoft could be dispatched with a law enforcement group to assist with medical care.

Boonshoft medical school hopes podcasts will help keep cream of its class

Medical students commonly apply — and get accepted — to multiple schools. So the Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, thanks in large part to suggestions from its students, has started a series of video podcasts and other online campaigns to keep incoming students interested in attending. Two videos have been shot so far, and another six are planned.
