TOLEDO, Ohio — The chief operating officer at the medical transcription company Heartland Information Services will take over as its chief executive officer.
Brett S. Himes replaces former chief executive Jerry C. Cirino, who left for sister company Reichert. Reichert, which makes devices for the eye-care industry, is owned by Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Company, which also own Heartland. Cirino remains on Heartland’s board.
The company earlier this year signed a three-year agreement with MedAssets Supply Chain Systems for dictation, transcription and document delivery services. Before joining Heartland two years ago, Himes was chief financial officer at radiology distributor SourceOne Healthcare Technologies.
