ELYRIA, Ohio — Retired Marine Corps General James L. Jones has resigned from the board of Invacare Corp. in Elyria because he has been appointed as the National Security Advisor to President Barack Obama.
Jones became a director for Invacare, which makes home health care equipment and supplies, in March 2007. His departure leaves Invacare with 10 directors — seven of whom are considered independent of the company.
The Hidden Administrative Tasks Draining Small Practices
Small practices play a critical role in healthcare delivery, but they cannot continue to absorb ever-increasing administrative demands without consequences.
Invacare’s general counsel, Anthony LaPlaca, said the board’s nominating committee would decide whether to fill the vacancy, and if so, would present the matter to shareholders in advance of their annual meeting.
