A specialty drug is a class of prescription medications used to treat complex, chronic or rare medical conditions. A new study from the University of Michigan found that results from random cancer trials in top medical journals were more likely to favor an industry when it funded the study. But University Hospitals Vice President Phil Cola said the key to managing bias is banning sources of funding, but getting institutions to do a better job of managing risks.
