Healthcare jobs seekers are least likely to be disappointed in their hunt for gainful employment given that it is the fastest-growing  industry nationwide. The happy news is that jobs are available at every level.

And now,  you don’t have to be tethered to your laptop or home computer to search for open positions anymore. There are a handful of apps available for job hunting on the go.

Here are a few that work on the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch. (One caveat: Most of these apps don’t have any ratings, yet; apps that have very negative reviews are not on the list.)

HealthcareJobsite.com App  — Yes, it could have a snazzier name, but the app has an average rating of four stars based on 54 ratings on the App Store. The app allows job seekers to look for jobs by location, keyword and company. It also allows users to tap into the mobile device’s GPS capability to look for jobs near them. Job posts can be shared through text or email. The app also allows users to begin the application process. Other resources include career articles and videos.

NurseJobs  — As the name suggests, this app is for people looking for nursing jobs — permanent, travel or per diem. Jobs can be searched by specifying specialty and location. Users can register for notifications about new jobs as well as keep track of saved jobs, requested jobs and recent job searches. Healthcare-related news and video are also available. The app has no ratings but two positive reviews.

Opportunity Drive  — This app aggregates job openings from multiple staffing agencies, hospitals and rehab groups. Users can search based on the usual criteria of location, specialty, medical facility and start date. Like other apps, there are job alerts that can be set. Two ratings on the previous version of the app give positive reviews in general with one pointing out that more traveling companies need to be added to the app’s database.

Go CCTC  — This is an app for those interested in a traveling health career. Made by Cross Country TravCorps, the app allows users to enter a profession, choose up to three specialties, select a desired destination and then hit the “search jobs” button. If interested in a job, users can choose the “call us” or “have us contact you” buttons that will take them to a contact form. The “exclusive” tab is a list of all jobs based on the search criteria entered. The current version of the app has no ratings, but the previous version has a four-star rating based on six ratings. One reviewer commented that the app has plenty of nursing job postings and other professions need to be added.

Aside from the above, there are also provider-specific apps on the App Store. For instance, Apria Healthcare Search Jobs, which has locations nationwide, and Froedtert Health Search Jobs, which allows users to search for jobs available at this Wisconsin health system.
