Venture catalyst Springboard Enterprises is searching for its next class of investment-ready, women-led life science companies for its Life Science 2012 Venture Forum.

The forum is a four-month accelerator program that forms teams of investors, advisers and entrepreneurs to coach and network with women-led ventures that will be seeking institutional investment within the next 12 to 18 months.

Graduates of the program include leaders of Achillion Pharmaceuticals, which went public in 2006, and Cleveland’s SPR Therapeutics, which closed a $2.2 million series A in January.

Appropriate applicants are seed- to late-stage life science companies that have a woman in a key management position, a profitable market opportunity and a track record of milestone achievement. Focus areas include diagnostics, health IT, drug development, medical devices, nanotechnology and therapeutics.

Because direct initial funding is not part of the package, Springboard does not require an equity stake in company. The deadline for priority applications is April 3.
