Health IT company Infina Connect, which develops software used by doctors, hospital systems and insurance companies, is closing in on a fundraising haul of $1.2 million.
Infina Connect, based in Cary, North Carolina, has raised just over $1 million in debt, options and warrants so far in a sale that began on Jan. 13, according to securities filings. Seven investors participated in the securities offering. The company raised $684,000 in equity investment last February, shortly after the company’s formation in late 2010.
Infina Connect offers web-based healthcare software based on its Infina Connect Platform. The software manages patient information by connecting doctors, hospitals, health systems, health plans and pharmacies through a single web portal.
Among Infina Connect’s projects is a system used by North Carolina Medicaid to automate the prior authorization processing for the MedImmune drug Synagis, which is used to prevent lung infections from respiratory syncytial virus. Infina Connect says that electronic prior approval handles patient information more efficiently and helps ensure that children at risk for hospitalization from an RSV infection are identified.
