Northeast Ohio’s newest full-service hospital will begin treating patients early next year.
University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center is a $298 million facility located near the intersection of Interstate 271 and Harvard Road at Chagrin Highlands in Beachwood.
UH officials expect the seven-story, 144-bed hospital to attract patients from Cleveland’s eastern and southeastern suburbs, as well as from northern Summit County. The project is being funded by a combination of bond proceeds, operating revenues, gifts and grants.
Using Informed Awareness to Transform Care Coordination and Improve the Clinical and Patient Experience
This eBook, in collaboration with Care Logistics, details how hospitals and health systems can facilitate more effective decision-making by operationalizing elevated awareness.
Consumers can get a sneak peek at Ahuja (pronounced a-WHO-jah) during a community open house from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 14.
The first phase of the medical center project includes a 60,000-square-foot medical office building, which also is scheduled to open in early 2011. The property has room for two additional towers, which could increase the total beds to 600 in the future.
UH Ahuja Medical Center is named in honor of UH Board Chairman Monte Ahuja, his wife, Usha, and their family, who donated $30 million to the health system in support of the Vision 2010 strategic plan.
Ahuja is a key component of the $1.2 billion plan, which includes the recently opened neonatal intensive care unit at UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and the future UH Cancer Hospital and Center for Emergency Medicine, both at UH Case Medical Center in Cleveland.
