Healthland, a healthcare software firm that focuses on rural hospitals, Monday appointed Angie Franks as president and CEO.

Franks, a former Lawson Software executive, replaces interim CEO John Trzeciak. As senior vice president of sales and market development, Franks was primarily responsible for rebranding Dairyland Healthcare Solutions as Healthland.

“This appointment will be a seamless move for our employees and our clients,” Franks said in a statement. “We will continue to focus on our existing priorities: providing a superior client experience, helping clients achieve meaningful use, and delivering products and services that create operational efficiencies and improve patient care.”

Based in Glenwood, Minnesota, Heartland is owned by Francisco Partners, a private equity firm with over $7 billion in committed capital.
