Laboratory equipment maker Celartia Ltd. has launched a new cell culture device in the U.S. and Canada.
The company says the device, called the PetakaG3, reduces cell culture contamination and is more portable than similar devices on the market, according to a statement from Celartia.
Celartia in June received a tax credit from the Ohio Department of Development to establish an office in the state. The tax credit was valued at $123,000 by ODOD. At the time, Valencia, Spain-based Celartia was said to be considering two locations in the Columbus area.
Celartia says the PetakaG3 is small enough to fit in a pocket and doesn’t require freezing or dry ice to be shipped. The device’s design is based on a resealable access port that keeps the interior hermetic to exterior elements.
