This scares me very much in that I have had Chronic Pain since 1979. I had 5 back surgeries and I eventually developed a Polyneuropathy on both sides of my body from head to toe. What scares me that is it's tough now getting pain meds and when the day comes and your body has a tolerance toward whatever opiate or whatever your taking and than you need a stronger dose, is the doctor going to say its now time you just live with it because I'm afraid to up you meds because the DEA and others are watching. I have hdd doctor after doctor say these things and some even refuse to treat me because of the pain medicine I would need to just function with my chronic pain. Even telling me that there is no help for you surgically and no cure for what you have and your neurologist tells you pain management is a waste of time and I'm not going to up your meds even if you see me for the next 30 years. It's tough to find a doctor who isn't afraid of the system. Unless you have chronic pain and the doctor as well, no one really knows what we go through. It completely takes away you life with family, working, going here and there when you can't because you don't feel well. Yes, this does scare me. What does Gov Strckland and those who are on this committe know. You have to experience Chroni Pain and I don't mean when you bump you head or have a tooth ache, or a minor surgery and you have some dicomfort for a short time. Try having it for the rest of you life and no one wants to help. Now that is SCARY!

Everyone neglects the possibility that drug abuse comes from an excess of money to already disadvantaged Ohioans. I live in Warren, OH and know first hand that low-income housing is a breeding ground for this type of addiction. If you want to stop the drug abuse in this area, quit handing out government checks (ALL OF THEM) to individuals who cannot pass a drug test to get their benefits. I don't care if you are undemployed, pregnant, elderly or a minor, if you cannot pass a mandatory drug test, you should not get the government money that I have to pass a drug test for in order to provide it with my taxes. I believe prescription drugs should be allowed, with monitoring. If you don't have the drug in your system, you don't get any more and should be faced with criminal charges. In my estimation these two acts alone would prevent fraud, abuse and ultimately the death of those who are addicted to both prescription and illicit drugs in low-income neighborhoods and also reduce the crime rate significantly.

My question is , what is this task force, pain management clinics, and pharmacists going to do with those who have build up a dependency on these medicaitons along with severe, and chronic pain, and is there going to be a placement process for those who are? Im definitely a supporter of this cause, however i am worried, the effect will create more deaths related to prescription drug abuse.
