Spurred by federal health reform, the Cleveland Clinic has promoted two executives to roles that will focus on better integrating the health system’s network of hospitals and promoting quality of care.

Dr. David Bronson has been appointed president of the Clinic’s nine regional hospitals in Northeast Ohio. He’ll lead operations at the hospitals and work to standardize quality and safety, according to a statement from the Clinic. Bronson previously worked as chairman of the Clinic’s Medicine Institute.

Bronson takes over the position from Fred DeGrandis, who will become chairman of Community Physician Partnership and Quality Alliance. In the role, he’ll focus on strengthening the Clinic’s relationships with community physicians throughout the country. He’ll also work to promote better collaboration between independent doctors and Clinic-employed physicians. DeGrandis’ previous jobs have included Lakewood Hospital’s chief legal counsel and CEO of Fairview, Lakewood and Lutheran hospitals.
