I have been watching and listening the debate over angel tax credits and grants in Minnesota. Having worked in the high tech sector for 13 years before leaving Minnesota to help high tech firms in Wisconsin, I can attest to the immense value of angel tax credits and how tax credits can and do have an immense impact on early stage companies. It is a vital piece of the puzzle that certainly attracts investment and state assistance to help these companies start and grow. It clearly is part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Wisconsin. It should also be a part of the Minnesota entrepreneurial ecosystem. It is only one piece of the puzzle; yet, a vital and necessary asset for startup firms.
