I have been a former patient at Metro and I thought they were microfilming? I remember when I needed a copy of my last records I had to wait because I was told they had given the records to a company in Columbus to microfilm and it would take a week to get my file. Isn't this a better system? So, why are they microfilming? That is so old fashion and dangerous to send to another company patients records. Look at the money the hospital could save by just doing the electronic records. Just a suggestion-----has anyone looked into how much money was spent microfilming and doing the electronic record deal?

Federal funding may be encouraging a move toward EHR, but there's more to it than just installing systems. How can healthcare data pooling lead to a better system? More at http://www.healthcaretownhall.com/?p=1499
