Simbionix finds leader to expand e-learning and content business

Paul Jensen, a vice president for global IT strategy and management in Wolters Kluwer’s Chicago office, assumes the role of General Manager for Simbionix’s eLearning and Content business. He will be in charge of MentorLearn, a product line that expands training and education beyond Simbionix’s core simulation products.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Medical simulation company Simbionix has appointment a former IT executive to expand a new range of education products.

Paul Jensen, former vice president for global IT strategy and management in Wolters Kluwer‘s Chicago office, assumes the role of general manager for Simbionix’s eLearning and Content business. He will be in charge of MentorLearn, a product line that expands training and education beyond Simbionix’s core simulation products.

“It’s about how we help hospitals, physician training centers and the like integrate simulations into their overall curriculum,” Jensen said. “What that’s going to mean for products and business — that’s why I’m here.”

Simbionix’s main focus is a line of simulators for endovascular, laparoscopic and gastrointestinal procedures, among others. But the company has developed its online learning suite after the acquisition of eTrinsic and already offers some products under the MentorLearn brand.
