CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Clinic has received $6 million to help build a 72-bed tower at its suburban Hillcrest Hospital.

The donation comes from Jane H. and Lee G. Seidman, founders of a 51-year-old regional auto dealership called The Motorcars Group. The family has donated a total of $23 million to the health system to support neurosurgery as well as heart and brain research and care, according to the Cleveland Clinic. The couple has also donated to Cleveland’s University Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, St. Jude’s Hospital, the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, Suburban Temple, ORT America and Cornell University.

The patient tower is part of a broader expansion at Hillcrest Hospital that includes a redesign of its emergency room, new operating rooms and surgical centers and the development of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, among other things. The tower will be named after the Seidmans.
