EyeScience Labs has two supplements: one for age-related macular degeneration and the other for dry-eye syndrome. Company President Jeff Northup said the company needed money for marketing and new product development.

Age-related macular degeneration is the leading cause of vision loss in people older than 60, and an estimated 10 million people deal with dry-eye syndrome.

EyeScience Labs in December started selling through retail chains, striking a deal with CVS to sell both its products. That was the first time the company’s products were available through the retail market. In February, it launched its corporate site, EyeScience.com, as a marketing and consumer-education portal for macular degeneration and other eye problems.
