What both Mayo and the Cleveland Clinic have in common is to tie payments to value and effectiveness, not quantity of tests/procedures. “Mayo's Health Policy Center released the statement on its blog Tuesday applauding the proposed creation of the IMAC [in the House bill] that would move Medicare to a "value-based payment" model.“ The Wall Street Journal is guilty of selective journalism, one on hand saying "American doctors seem to be migrating away from multispecialty clinics" and on the other hand failing to mention that the public option is being designed to encourage multispecialty clinics.
