There’s one thing that can mitigate — even if it’s just for a day — a summer of budget cuts, a brutal private equity market, and the promise of months of unending brawls over health-care reform.
And that thing is cornhole.
MedCity News is proud to host an end-of-the-summer cornhole tournament and picnic.
Cornhole: The Ultimate Medical Challenge
4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 27 at Edgewater Park
Free to play. Free to watch. Onlookers pay $15 to eat.
Tournament teams already include members of Cleveland Clinic Innovations, Within3, MetroHealth Medical Center, Invacare, Calfee Halter & Griswold, BioEnterprise, Medical Mutual and Arteriocyte, but we are looking for more members of the medical industry to participate. Interested? Contact us ASAP!
Winners get their very own MedCity News cornhole set and bragging rights as the best cornhole players in Ohio’s health-care industry.
We’ll post a tournament bracket and other details as the date draws closer.
And since he’s arriving in Cleveland on Thursday, we extend a special open invitation to you, Mr. President, to return to Cleveland on Aug. 27 and participate in cornhole. Depending on the mood of Congress, it could be the most notable health-care accomplishment this year.
